Esta manhã, o Centro de Reeducação Feminino me chamou para anunciar que o nosso horário de visita na casa penal tinha sido alterado, passando da parte da manhã para a tarde da Quarta-Feira. Fui então fazer as minhas visitas bi-semanais às duas horas da tarde e, graças à Deus, foi muito agradável!
Eu tinha planejado uma viajem missionária e,portanto, não ia visitar as minhas amigas internas do presídio mas devido à fatores imprevistos não viajei. Como eu tinha sido pego de surpresa, tendo ainda a oportunidade de visitá-las, eu não tinha material de leitura pronto para lhes entregar; então, decidi ir conversar de maneira mais informal, sentando com elas, brincando e dando testemunho do amor que Jesus tem por elas, almas coitadas. Foi realmente bem legal de abordá-las tão simplesmente e pessoalmente. Tenho certeza que Deus tem tocado o coração de algumas dessas mulheres quebradas.
Sempre me esforço de trazer à memória delas a fé que tenho nelas; que Deus as ama de forma pessoal e individual, incondicional e eternamente, e sei que isto lhes dá mais coragem de superar e vencer do que muitos sermões que possam ouvir.
Eu tive uma idéia, bem antes de sair de casa para ir ao presídio: Pensei que seria ótimo se conseguisse fazer uma campanha de coleta de livros devocionais cristãos, livros de estória e textos edificantes, Bíblias, etc, afim de criar uma biblioteca para as internas do presídio. Também ouvi falar por alguém da equipe de assistentes sociais que a intenção da direção da casa penal era de edificar uma brinquedoteca para as crianças das internas por quando mães e filhos estiverem juntos por uma poucas horas. Juntar livros infantis didáticos e divertidos completaria o projeto. VISITING THE WOMEN’S PRISON
This morning, the Women Re-education Center called me to announce that our visiting Schedule in the jailhouse had been altered, passing from the morning to the afternoon of Wednesday. Then, I went to do my bi-weekly visits at 2:00 PM, and thank God, it was very pleasant!
I had planned a missionary trip, and because of that, I wasn’t going to visit my friends of the prison, but due to some unpredictable factors, I didn’t travel. Since I had been taken by surprise, still having the opportunity to visit them, I didn’t have any reading material ready to give them; so I decided to go and talk to them in an more informal way, sitting down with them, joking around and giving testimony of the love that Jesus has for them, poor souls. It was really cool to approach them so simply and personally. I’m pretty sure that God has touched the hearts of some of those broken
I always strive to bring to their memory the faith I have in them, that God loves them in a personal and individual way; unconditionally and eternally, and I know that this gives them more courage to overcome and win than the many sermons they may hear.
I had an idea, right before I left home to go to the prison: I thought it would be terrific if I could manage to organize a campaign to collect christian devotional books, story books and edifying texts; Bibles, etc. in order to create library for the prisoners. Also, I heard say from someone of the team of social workers that the directors of the jailhouse intended to build a play-room for the prisoners’kids, for when mothers and children will be together for a few hours. To gather educational and fun kids books would complete the Project.
